It captures a dual journey — a woman’s challenge against nature’s harshest conditions in her pursuit to navigate and reconcile with her own turbulent past. Moving from clarity to obscurity, from warmth to cold, and from confronting fears to transcending them.

At the heart of this documentary lies a pressing question: Why does someone willingly embrace such life-threatening risks, subjecting loved ones to endless worry and doubt? Is it the thrill of excitement, an escape from oneself, or a confrontation with inner battles? This isn’t just about diving; it’s about grasping why she’s drawn to a challenge that terrifies most of us.

Li is a free diver and a multifaceted individual who has consistently faced down death and tackled her own vulnerabilities.

In 2005, just before her fighter pilot exam, 19-year-old Li survived a severe car crash. Trapped in the burning vehicle, she managed to escape, but her childhood friend Jenny didn’t make it. Li sustained serious injuries, with doctors saying she was fortunate to be alive.

In her quest for self-understanding and reconciliation Li chooses to confront the very embodiment of her internal struggles: The chilling waters of Greenland. This extreme dive is not just a test of physical endurance but a metaphorical immersion into the coldest, darkest recesses of her soul. As she goes down under the water, we’re left wondering: will she emerge with the answers she seeks?
